The hairdresser Edisa de Jesús Solini, 20, wanted to do a liposculpture, but the dream was interrupted this Saturday (12). The young woman died after performing three cosmetic procedures at a plastic surgery clinic in Belo Horizonte.

Edisa underwent three procedures on Friday at the Belíssima clinic. On Saturday (12) the young woman’s condition worsened and she was rushed to the Felicio Rocho Hospital, also in Belo Horizonte, but she died that same day. On the death certificate the cause of death was a pulmonary embolism.

“It was a dream of his that he had been planning since May. Liposculpture, buttocks and liposuction were done ”, says Samea Solini, sister of the hairdresser.

The victim’s family alleges that the doctor responsible for the procedure was negligent. According to Samea, the surgeon knew there was a recommendation for the operation to be performed in a hospital, but kept the indication for the operation in the clinic. Edisa’s sister assures that the doctor owns the Belíssima clinic, where the surgical procedure was performed. The professional’s name was not disclosed.

“He did all the preoperative exams, but his surgical risk showed a small spot on his heart. He could operate, but only in the hospital and not in a clinic,” says Samea.

According to the sister, Edisa had no history of heart problems and the doctor informed her that the surgery could be performed at the clinic. The establishment reported, by note, that the patient was able to perform the procedure in the clinic and that the place has infrastructure and permission from the Municipal Health Secretariat to carry out operations.

According to the clinic, the plastic surgeon responsible for the procedure is a member of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery and required all the preoperative examinations.

The clinic also made itself available to provide the necessary clarifications and offered its condolences to the victim’s family. The Civil Police of Minas Gerais opened an investigation to investigate the case.

Since yesterday (14), Edisa’s family and friends have demonstrated in front of the clinic in search of answers. “We are not doing well. We want justice,” says Samea.
