The pediatrician who witnessed the murder of Shirley Rúbia Gestrudes, 39, is in shock, according to Deam 2 chief deputy Adriana Romana. The woman was stabbed to death by her ex-partner Rafael Rodrigues Manuel, 35, during the consultation of the couple’s 4-year-old daughter. The crime, treated as femicide by the police, occurred this Monday afternoon (9/14), at the São Francisco Hospital, in Ceilândia.
According to investigations, Shirley scheduled a pediatric appointment for her daughter at the health unit, located at QNN 28, and Rafael accompanied the ex-wife. The two remained in the waiting room and, after a few minutes, were called to the office.
Then the defendant went out to the car and took a knife that was allegedly used in the crime. Upon entering the room again, he struck the victim several times, one of which pierced his heart. Shirley was helped by hospital staff and sent to the operating room, but she did not resist the injuries and died.
At the time of the crime, the couple’s daughter was weighed on the scale and accompanied by a pediatrician. The two witnessed what happened. “The doctor is in a state of shock and, soon, we will collect his testimony. But, now, it is not in conditions ”, explained the delegate.
After committing the crime, the suspect fled, drove to the house where he lives with his parents in Samambaia and shot himself.
The São Francisco Hospital positioned itself by means of an official note and clarified that, after being beaten, Shirley was taken to the unit’s surgical center, where she received all the care, but did not resist and died.
“Due to what happened, the Federal District Military Police (PMDF) was called and, together with the Federal District Civil Police (PCDF), a process was started to investigate the facts. The child was treated promptly by the Department of Psychology of the hospital ”, says the document.
