The council of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) reported on Monday (14) that Minister Luiz Fux, president of the court, was diagnosed with Covid-19, a disease caused by the new coronavirus.
Fux took office as the new president of the STF on the 10th. In his speech, he said that he will not accept attacks against the Supreme Court or back down in the fight against corruption. The ceremony was restricted, limited to some authorities and relatives of the minister.
According to the STF notice, Fux is fine and decided to seek medical attention after having increased body temperature (read the full note below).
Also according to the notice, the president of the STF will follow health protocols and will be isolated for the next 10 days.

Fux is in Rio de Janeiro and decided to cancel the session of the National Council of Justice (CNJ) scheduled for this Tuesday (15). The minister chairs the council.
On Wednesday (16), there will be a session of the STF, and the minister intends to command it, by videoconference. It will be the first test session in which Fux will participate as the new president of the STF.
Last week, the minister set the STF’s agenda for trials by the end of this year. Among the planned actions are the “gender ideology” in schools, the division of oil royalties and the new labor law, for example.

The Communications Office of the Presidency of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) reports that Minister Luiz Fux tested positive for Covid-19. The president sought medical service in Rio de Janeiro this Monday (14) when he presented an increase in body temperature.
The suspicion is that he may have contracted the new coronavirus at a family reunion lunch last Saturday (12). The minister will follow health protocols and will be isolated for the next 10 days.
President Luiz Fux is doing well and intends to lead the ordinary session of the Plenary this Wednesday (16).
