The conciliation hearing between the Post Office and the employees of the public company ended without agreement on Friday (11). With that, reported the Superior Labor Court (TST), the collective agreement of the strike will be judged the next day. September 21st.
The workers have been on strike since August 17 and, according to the TST, Correos did not present a proposal at the hearing on Friday. Wanted, the company’s adviser said it will publish a note on the meeting.
According to the National Federation of Postal Workers and Allied Companies (Fentect), the strikers oppose the privatization of the state company, complain about what they call “neglect of workers’ health” in the pandemic and ask that they be guaranteed labor rights.
In the opinion of the 21st, the TST ministers will be able to decide the amount of the salary adjustment and other clauses that will come into effect in the new collective agreement.
When judging the last collective agreement in the category, the TST ministers decided, for example, to exclude parents from the company’s health plan.

The entity that represents the workers argues that they were surprised by the revocation of the current Collective Agreement, which would be in force until 2021.
In a note released at the start of the strike, the Correios reported that, since the beginning of the negotiation of the collective agreement, they have been transparent about the economic and financial situation.
“The company is no longer in a position to bear the high expenses, which means, among other actions that are already underway, discussing benefits that were granted on other occasions and that do not correspond to the current reality of the market”, say the Correios.
