Union signals need for tender
The need to open a new public notice for competition audience of National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa Contest) is big. The National Union of Servants of the National Regulatory Bodies (Sinagências) warned, in February 2020, about the need for reinforcements in the Agency’s health inspection, especially in the area of ports, airports, borders and prosecutors of the country.
To exemplify what is currently happening with the agency, the union used Guarulhos airport, where only one guard server operates. The situation is considered dire as Guarulhos has the largest and busiest airport complex in South America, with more than 43 million passengers at the airport in 2019.

According to Sinagências in a note published on its official website, the high number of passengers who circulate through the site every day highlights the need for reinforcements in the inspection. In addition, it is necessary to create strategies to combat endemic and epidemic of contagious diseases, such as the current coronavirus.
According to information from the union, the importance of expanding the number of personnel working in these areas throughout the country is evident. The institution considers it necessary to urgently hold a public tender.
“Since the fight against endemics and epidemics of contagious diseases such as coronavirus is relevant, it is therefore necessary to hold public tenders for the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), at the regional level, for the towns where ports are located , airports and borders ”, said Alexnaldo Queirox de Jesús, president of Sinagências, in a letter sent to the Presidency of the Republic.
According to the president of Sinagências, the relocation of servers would not be enough. This is because the relocation of professionals from other states to São Paulo would end up generating a deficit in other locations in the country.
