Inspectors at the service of the city of Ribeirão Preto (SP) were offended and had their cars surrounded by customers of a bar after an inspection carried out last Friday night (4) due to the new coronavirus pandemic. The episode was filmed by one of the agents and broadcast on social networks, according to a report by TV Globo.
The owners regretted the fact and said they did not take any action because “the public authority was already involved in the case.”
According to the report, the owners of the establishment also pledged to strengthen care to avoid ignoring the health protocols imposed by public bodies to minimize the risks of transmission of covid-19, a disease caused by the new coronavirus.

The establishment also reported that it has adopted measures, such as the spacing between tables, the reduction of the operation to 40% of its capacity and the closing at 10:00 p.m., time established by the municipal decree.
However, inspectors from the Ribeirão Preto (SP) City Council affirm that there were more clients than authorized, there was live music and chairs on the sidewalk, in violation of the rules. The bar will be fined for infractions and for preventing inspection, the city says.
The case was referred to the MP-SP (São Paulo Public Ministry). Clients identified in the incident will be held liable for a crime against public health and contempt. The owner of the establishment, who may be expelled, will be responsible for collective moral damage.
