The Secretary of State for Health confirmed on Friday (4), 1,902 new cases and 56 deaths from infection caused by the new coronavirus.
Paraná has 138,293 cases and 3,467 deaths from the disease.
1,024 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of Covid-19 are hospitalized on Friday, 438 are in the ICU of public and private hospitals.
There are another 1,240 hospitalized patients awaiting test results. Suspected cases of infection by the new coronavirus are considered.
The 50 patients who died were hospitalized. There are 19 women and 37 men, ranging in age from 31 to 100 years. The deaths occurred between August 2 and September 4.
Across Paraná, 95,386 people recovered from the disease.
In Curitiba there were another 495 cases of Covid-19 and 12 deaths of residents of the city infected by the new coronavirus according to the bulletin issued by the Municipal Health Secretariat.
Curitiba now reaches 1,051 deaths caused by the disease.
Of the 12 deaths, five occurred in the last 48 hours, another seven occurred between August 24 and September 1 and were under investigation. The new victims are nine men and three women between 55 and 97 years old.
With the new confirmed cases, 34,812 city residents have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic; 29,185 were released from isolation and without symptoms of the disease.
The total number of active cases in the city is 4,576. This is the number of people with the potential to transmit the virus.
The increase in active cases and the rate of transmission of the disease caused the capital to return to the orange flag announced by the municipal health secretary, Marcia Huçulak. The secretary also said that when the capital changed to a yellow flag, there may have been a communication error for the population.
The secretariat investigates 596 suspected cases of coronavirus infection.
This Friday, the occupancy rate of 349 SUS ICU beds exclusive of covid-19 is 81%.
