The head of the Civil Police, Paulo Alexandre Freyesleben e Silva, reported that the murder of Flávia Godinho Mafra was planned at least two months in advance. He revealed details about the crime, which occurred in Canelinha, at a press conference this Friday 28.
In the report, the 26-year-old defendant said she was pregnant in October, but lost her baby in January this year. However, she did not inform her relatives, including her husband of 44 years. In mid-June, she identified her pregnant friend and has since premeditated the crime.
She reported that relatives were unaware of the crime and pretended to be pregnant during the last months. The delegate emphasizes that the necessary measures will be taken to confirm the possible involvement of the family in the case.
“The husband is very nervous, he cries a lot. However, you have to look for specific elements that take it out or place it at the crime scene, “he says.
It also indicates that the police received information that, although the husband denies knowing about the false pregnancy, there is the testimony of several people who knew that the woman had an abortion. However, the husband does not consider it plausible to ignore this situation.
“We are going to work on the hypothesis that she may have had help, including that her husband will be fined on the spot because the pregnancy was born in October last year and her story raises doubts about her participation in the crime,” Silva reports.
The defendant alleged that she had carried out the murder due to the proximity of her pregnancy and the victim, and because she was a friend of Flavia. The sole purpose of the crime would be to keep the victim’s baby. During the deposition, the delegate said that she was extremely cold, never showing regret or guilt in relation to the case.
Premeditated crime
The defendant informed police that she set up the baby shower, taking the victim to the alleged event location. Despite this, she stopped at an abandoned pottery in the Galera neighborhood and told the victim that people were coming to the place.
The victim reportedly turned her back on the woman, who threw a brick at her head. Then more blows, which rendered the victim unconscious. At this point, he took the pencil and made a cut in the victim’s belly, pulling the child out of the mother’s womb. She claims that she was alone at the time of the crime.
Asked if there was a body fight, the delegate reported that the result of the expert report will explain if this was the case. In ceramic, the body and the melee weapon used in the crime were found next to a furnace.
Flávia’s body was found by her mother. The Prime Minister had been collecting information since yesterday and managed to locate the body through the community.
Fake pregnant woman not hospital
At around 9:00 p.m. on Thursday 27, the Military Police were called on suspicion of bodily injury to a newborn child at the Canelinha hospital. At the site, it was found that there was a baby with deep cuts on her back and an injury to one of her arms. The prime minister drew up a police report and continued his normal activities.
She told health professionals that she gave birth on the street. Still, she was assisted by neighbors, who took her to the entrance of the condominium where she lives. From there, they took her to the Canelinha hospital.
The boy was treated by hospital doctors. The alleged mother was treated by a specialist doctor. He immediately realized that she had no evidence of a recent birth, which generated distrust among the medical team.
This Friday 28, the Police received the information that there was a missing pregnant woman, and their last contact would have been with the alleged pregnant woman who went to the hospital.

At the moment, the newborn baby is not in danger of death and is in the children’s hospital under the care of the Council of Guardians.
