A family decided to open the coffin of a coronavirus victim in its path last Thursday (7), and ended up contaminating five people who were present at the site in the city of Cairu, in Bahia. The information is from Folha de S.Paulo.
According to information gathered by the report, the coffin left the hospital sealed. Upon arrival at the scene, the victim’s relatives opposed the City Council’s recommendations and opened the coffin, contaminating five of the 12 present at the ceremony.
“Nurses, health technicians, psychologists and social workers in the municipal health network are offering full support to the family and friends of the victim. The Health Department mourns the death and wishes to comfort family members at this time difficult, “the city reported in a note.
The city said it decided to test the disease, but found resistance from the victim’s family. Upon successful completion of the test, the contamination of the other five people was confirmed.
