Natividade municipality, in the central region of Tocantins, is investigating employees of the municipal health and administration departments for allegedly participating in a party on Thursday night (30). The event would have been in a restaurant in the city to celebrate a birthday and it was only interrupted with the arrival of the Sanitary Vigilance and the Military Police.

Public officials will respond administratively because in Natividade the rules of social distance and orientation are being applied so as not to form agglomerations. The measures are to combat the new coronavirus. In Tocantins, more than 160 patients have been diagnosed with the disease as of Thursday (30), according to the state government’s epidemiological bulletin.

The investigation was confirmed by Natividade’s health secretary, Wilker Fernando. According to him, the legal department is analyzing whether there has been inappropriate behavior by employees.

According to the secretary, there are six servants under suspicion. He did not specify how many work in the health field and how many are in the administrative sector. The case caught the city’s attention after complaints from residents who saw photos of the party on social media. In total, about 15 people gathered for the anniversary.
