The Civil Police are investigating whether there was negligence or omission on the part of the stepmother of a six-year-old boy who died on Friday (02) after being run over by a train in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. According to the investigations, Otávio Henrique de Almeida Lemos played on the train track under the care of the woman.
The case occurred in the vicinity of the Saracuruna da Supervia station, the concessionaire that manages the trains. The boy ended up being hit by a Guapimirim extension that arrived at the station Saracuruna.
In testimony, Tayna Francinett Rodrigues claimed that she even asked the boy to leave the clues, but he would not have obeyed. The boy was rescued by the Firefighters and taken to the Adão Pereira Nunes Hospital, in the same region. According to the Duque de Caxias Municipal Health Secretariat, Otávio Henrique entered the health unit around 7:20 p.m. on Friday, with respiratory arrest.

According to the delegate responsible for the case, Paulo Roberto Lima, of the 60th DP (Campos Elíseos), the investigations are ongoing and steps are being taken to determine the circumstances of the incident. The boy’s relatives have already been heard and others have not yet made a statement.
