The “Open Trial” revealed that in his statement to the Thessaloniki Sports Violence Department, the head of Aris’s administrative team, Theodoros Karypidis, claimed that he received a message on his cell phone from Marios Siambanis on Thursday night.
Aris’ goalkeeper asked for immediate communication. Mr. Karypidis contacted him and Siampanis told him that two people tried to bribe him 100,000 euros to have a reduced performance in the match against PAOK.
The money was with him for a former PAOK employee, whom he named. The third person at the meeting, Ciambanis, said he did not know.
According to his testimony, Mr. Karypidis immediately contacted PAOK’s First Vice President and Managing Director, Maki Gagatsis, and informed him of the incident. Mr. Gagkatsis reacted and told him that PAOK has absolutely nothing to do with it.
Mr. Karypidis stated that he does not link the incident of the attempted bribery with PAOK FC.
