Complaints about Johnson & Johnson’s baby powder products are “progressing,” with restrictions on forensic expert testimony.
Thousands of plaintiffs accusing Johnson & Johnson (J&J) of using baby powder and talc may cause cancer, but restrictions have been placed on the lawsuits since the ruling. Regional Judge Freda Wolfson received yesterday in New Jersey.
J&J faces more than 16,000 lawsuits in the United States. These lawsuits are related to the talc it produces, and most will be judged by Judge Wolfson. The lawsuits allege that J&J talc products are contaminated with asbestos and can cause ovarian cancer.
Last October, Johnson & Johnson claimed that new tests by “third parties” found no trace of asbestos in the children’s dust.
A year ago, a California court awarded $ 29 million in damages to a woman who had turned against Johnson & Johnson, alleging that the asbestos contained in the company’s talc had caused her cancer.
