Fines of more than 500,000 euros and a “lock” in five companies on New Year’s Eve

More than 85,000 inspections were carried out on the last day of 2020 and fines of more than half a million euros were confirmed.

The competent audit services (EL.AS., Coast Guard, DIMEA, Municipal Police, SEPE and EAD) on New Year’s Eve proceeded to 85,150 checks for compliance with restrictive measures.

According to data from the National Transparency Authority, there were 1,683 rape cases epidemiological alert measures and imposed fines of 527,050 euros.

Beside five companies were forced to suspend operations for a period of 15 days.

Of the 85,150 checks, 77,940 were carried out by the Greek police.

However, the main offenses concerned the failure to wear a mask, non-compliance with special operating conditions business and illegal movement.
