The case of the attack against the Rector of the Athens University of Economics and Business on October 29, 2020, was investigated by the Sub-Directorate of State Security of the Attica Security Directorate.

During the preliminary examination, eight people were identified for their participation, accused of criminal organization, kidnapping along with violence and threat of violence, for illegal detention in order to tolerate an act, for which the victim has no obligation, illegal detention and illegal co-violence, interruption of cooperation in public service and damage to foreign property belonging to the common good.

The preliminary examination was submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office and the case was referred to the main investigation.

It is recalled that the unknown men had entered the rectory wearing hoods and gloves and had grabbed him by the neck, launching threats against him.

Then they broke what they found in front of them (from computers to objects of special historical value for the institution) causing great damage to the offices, walls, furniture and equipment of the Rectory.

The commandos wrote “solidarity with the occupiers” in red in their slogans, as well as the sign of anarchy.

Directors of the institution who had spoken with “K” spoke of one of the most violent attacks in recent years.
