Sail from Toulon with a strong escort

From Paris, the ERT correspondent reports: “This morning the French Defense Minister visited the crew of the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle at their base in Toulon. It launched the first mission of the aircraft carrier after months of a pandemic that brought it to a standstill due to aircrew contamination.
The defense minister did not reveal the first destination but clarified that it will begin in the next few days.

Meanwhile, in rumors published in some French and mainly Greek media, the Defense Ministry responded to ERT that the rumor that Charles de Gaulle will go to the eastern Mediterranean “is not confirmed”.
“The final word on the carrier’s business plans is, of course, President Macron, who is in Lebanon for his second visit since the Beirut port explosion.”
