The threat of banning the TikTok video app from the US app stores has yet to materialize. The president of the United States, Trump, approved an agreement with Oracle and Walmart and spoke of a “new company”.

In the round-trip control of the TikTok video app, a fix appears to be brewing. US President Donald Trump said Saturday that he would basically bless a deal in which software company Oracle and supermarket chain Walmart should run the business.
The new solution provides more security, using separate cloud systems, Trump said. The new company should be located in Texas and, according to Trump, have 25,000 employees. The agreement also includes a $ 5 billion fund for the United States education system. The US Department of Commerce announced that the deadline after which the TikTok app can no longer be downloaded from app stores will be postponed for a week.
Oracle should take over the hosting
TikTok confirmed the deal. A statement said Oracle and Walmart should jointly own 20 percent of the company. According to TikTok, Oracle will be responsible for hosting all US user data and supporting associated computer systems. With Walmart you are working on a “trade partnership.”
Oracle CEO Safra Catz also confirmed that the group will become a minority investor in TikTok Global.
The TikTok video app has around 100 million users in the US, many of them uploading videos of themselves, dancing, doing comedy, or giving makeup tips. But TikTok is also political. Nothing dry yet
TikTok has been a thorn in the side of the US government for a long time. Chinese operating company ByteDance is accused of transmitting user data to Chinese authorities. These security concerns have prompted the President of the United States, Trump, to set various deadlines for the sale of TikTok to an American company; otherwise, the application would have to disappear completely from the US market.
Even if Trump accepts the deal in principle, nothing is dry. Because the Chinese government is also involved in the negotiations. China had rejected a sale to the Microsoft group.
Probably no procrastination for WeChat
In the dispute, TikTok tried to take legal action against the app’s ban in the US In the run-up, download figures for TikTok and the Chinese chat app WeChat, which was also affected, skyrocketed. As reported by the Sensor Tower company, which measures the number of downloads, WeChat reached 10,000 downloads on Friday alone, an increase of 150 percent compared to the previous day.
Even if the deadline for TikTok was postponed for now, the Trump administration is probably taking WeChat seriously. The app is likely to disappear from US app stores between Sunday and Monday.
