Crown controls: Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania drives out tourists


You are not allowed to travel to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania without a valid reason, but of course the Baltic Sea still draws you. During Easter, the police control the national borders more strictly than usual, as the photos taken on the spot show.

In the event of an increase in traffic controls in Neubrandenburg (Mecklenburg Lake District), the occupants of 82 vehicles were expelled from the state for violating crown rules. The controls on Friday were on prohibited tourist entries to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, as announced by the police.

800 vehicles searched, 152 people expelled

Consequently, 152 people were asked to leave the state again because they could not provide a valid reason for their stay. The police searched a total of 800 vehicles. The biggest controls take place during the Easter holidays.

According to the state government, the entry of tourists to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is generally prohibited and daytime tourism is also not allowed. However, there are exceptions for entry. If you have a second residence in MV, therefore, you can enter the country. It is also allowed to travel to the federal state if the nuclear family is visited. According to the information, this includes children, parents, siblings or life partners.
