Only 10 euros a month and everything digital: Telekom launches a completely new smartphone rate

Fraenk’s fee is implemented by Telekom’s subsidiary Congstar. Compared to other rates at Congstar and Telekom, there is more data volume for 10 euros, as well as the flexibility rarely available to be able to cancel the rate monthly. The Freenet radio model offers significantly more data volume compared to the price, but Fraenk has an advantage: the fee includes EU roaming and can therefore be used in country group one at no additional cost . It also runs on Deutsche Telekom’s strongest D network.

However, according to teltarif.de, a major disadvantage of Fraenk compared to other mobile phone rates is revealed in the product information sheet; if the 4GB data volume is depleted, the user is throttled as usual with other rates; However at 0 Kbit / s, which means that the limitation is equivalent to disabling Internet access. If you later want to continue browsing on the go, you must reserve a new volume of data; 2 GB will cost a one-time fee of 5 euros.
If you choose the rate, all you have to do is download the application and use it to request your SIM card. It is not yet possible to carry the number of the previous provider with you. However, if this option is introduced, it will be significantly cheaper than before thanks to a new decision by the Federal Network Agency.

The idea of the app is not entirely new: Almost a year ago, Freenet launched Funk, a discount brand that can only be booked through the app. The main difference: the radio uses the Telefónica (O2) network and offers a flat rate of LTE data without accelerator (up to 225 Mbit / s) for 30 euros per month, in addition to a flat rate of Allnet and SMS. The fee is billed daily, can be canceled daily, but cannot be used abroad.
