In view of the sharp increase in the number of infections, crown measures in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are tightening in some cases. In regions with a seven-day incidence of more than 100, night-out restrictions will be possible in the future.

The most important resolutions of Saturday’s MV Summit are:

  • Exit locks for incidents greater than 100
  • More corona tests also in companies
  • It is not possible to make trips to MV
  • Mandatory mask for passengers
  • Emergency brake only from an incidence of 150

If corona infections are not limited locally, exit restrictions will be introduced in areas with an incidence of more than 100 at night, Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) said after the MV summit. It is important to contain the infection process in private. Between 9pm and 6am, people should only leave their apartment or house for good reason if ordered by the responsible district administrator or mayor, as has already happened in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district.

More tests to keep stores open

On the other hand, the country wants to use faster corona tests to allow “Click & Meet” stores to stay open or reopen quickly. Under the old strategy, the country should have put the “emergency brake” on because of the high incidence, Schwesig said. One wanted to avoid this. No more openings for gastronomy and tourism are possible due to the worrying contagion situation.

Visit the hairdresser only with a negative test.

Starting next Wednesday, a visit to the hairdresser or body cuddling services in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania will only be possible with a rapid negative corona test. As of April 6, a negative test must also be shown when buying, as Schwesig said. In Rostock, this should only apply from April 10. Nationwide, grocery stores, drug stores, pharmacies, gas stations, weekly markets, florists and bookstores, and garden centers are exempt from the testing requirement. With the obligation to test when buying, the state government hopes to be able to maintain the openings that have been made so far despite the current increase in the number of infections. Districts and urban districts have now established a network of more than 150 quick test options. A map is available on the website of the Ministry of the Economy.

Mandatory mask for passengers

The state government wants to make sure the options for Corona’s free trial are expanded. In the future, kindergartens and schools will test twice a week. The country will buy an additional two million corona tests. A mask requirement for driving passengers has recently been introduced. Anyone who does not belong to the same household or to the family nucleus of the driver must wear protection for the mouth and nose. The driver is exempt from this.

Economy promises corona tests

In addition, the economy is committed to offering more tests for its employees. In the next week it will be clarified how the tests carried out in the company can also be accepted outside the work area. The managing director of the Association of Business Associations, Sven Müller, emphasized that small businesses in particular can only offer tests for their employees if the logistics are correct. He also warned of the additional aid that the federal government had promised last Monday for all industries that are still unable to open.

“Emergency brake” from an incidence of 150

With an incidence of more than 150 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, the “emergency brake” should be put in place in the corresponding region. Some body hugging services, driving schools, zoos, animal parks, museums and galleries will have to close and sporting opportunities will be restricted. However, “pedestal” retail will remain widely open. Shopping by appointment and visits to the hairdresser should also remain possible.

Locals can go on excursions within MV

Tourist trips or day trips to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are not yet possible. According to Schwesig, locals can, of course, go on excursions within the country, even at Easter. As a contact restriction, a maximum of five people from two different households is allowed to meet.

The number of new corona infections has risen dramatically in the Northeast this week. More than 300 new infections were recently reported in multiple days. The incidence value at the national level rose to more than 100. Meanwhile, neither of the two independent cities or none of the six rural districts is below the important threshold of 50.
