Biden lays the foundation for US foreign policy
4.30 am: While US President-designate Joe Biden is still denied access to government information in the transition phase, the Democrat is already laying the groundwork for his future foreign policy. Biden made separate phone calls with heads of government in Japan, South Korea and Australia, his transition office said. All parties expressed their determination to strengthen bilateral relations and address global issues such as the coronavirus pandemic and climate change.
The election results are still officially recognized. The step is necessary so that Biden’s team and current President Donald Trump’s administration can ensure a smooth transfer of official business.
Even a week after the election, Trump continues to insist that the vote was misled and the transition team was denied necessary funding and access to government officials. The tally of the votes has yet to be fully completed, but as of Saturday it has become clear that Biden can no longer be mathematically beaten. Biden’s inauguration is scheduled for January 20.
There is no evidence of voter fraud in the state of Georgia
02.25 am: In the ongoing counting of votes cast in the presidential elections in the US state of Georgia, there are so far no signs of inconsistencies. There are still no signs of electoral fraud, said the state Interior Minister Brad Raffensperger. “We believe the ballots were accurately counted.”
Raffensperger had ordered a recount of the machine evaluation by hand due to the narrow result. This should be finished before November 20.
President-elect Joe Biden is in Georgia with about 14,000 votes ahead of incumbent Donald Trump. The result in the state of 732,000 people was widely expected and does not change the big picture. With Biden already gaining more than 270 voters, Trump couldn’t catch up even if he won.
Biden wants to name a confident White House chief of staff
02.10 am: President-elect Joe Biden has decided who will be his future chief of staff in the White House. Biden’s team announced that the choice fell on his longtime confidant, Ronald Klain.
“His deep and diverse experience and his ability to work with people from across the political spectrum is exactly what I need from a White House chief of staff as we face this time of crisis and bring the country back together,” said Biden.
Biden and Klain already worked together in the White House when Biden was Barack Obama’s vice president: Klain, now 59, was Biden’s Chief of Staff from 2009 to 2011. He also worked for the Democrat when he was in the United States Senate , and when Biden ran for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1988 and 2008.
In 2014, Obama appointed Klain as the coordinator of the US government’s response to the Ebola epidemic. During the crown pandemic, Klain stood out as a critic of President Donald Trump. A video explaining what a Biden government would have done differently during the pandemic and what it wants to do in the future drew a lot of attention. Biden has vowed to make fighting the coronavirus pandemic a priority.

Trump releases old video as alleged evidence of election fraud

The Reuters news agency reviewed the video late last week. It turned out that the video shows the collection of valid postal ballots that were published on or before Election Day.

According to a spokesperson, the postal polls were closed and locked at 8 p.m. on Election Day on November 3. Ballots from all polls throughout the district were collected the next day.
