The death of Xavier Ortiz, who was one of the original members of the famous Garibaldi group, shocked the Mexican entertainment world.

Ortiz, 48, was born on June 29, 1972 and had joined the musical group at age 17 that combined contemporary sounds of pop and rock with rancheras.

Garibaldi, a musical project made by and for young people, produced by Luis de Llano Macedo, was founded in 1989 with the presence of the artists Pilar Montenegro, Luisa Fernanda Lozano, Katia Llanos, Charly López, Víctor Noriega, Xavier Ortiz and Patricia Manterola.

Within the group – remembered for hits like his version of The little window, as well as the songs That I put it on you and BananaIt was where the sentimental relationship between Ortiz and Manterola arose, with whom he formed a couple that lasted 15 years.

The news of his death was given via social networks by the deputy and former partner of the musical group, Sergio Mayer. The artist also stated the following:

“With deep sadness and great pain I report the death of my dear brother and great companion of the Garibaldi group and actor Xavier Ortiz. My sincere condolences to his family, friends and friends ”.

Although the first information did not confirm the reason for his unexpected death, hours later his sister Olga Ortiz published that: “he committed suicide, we are in shock. We knew he was very depressed due to isolation, lack of income and a very stormy separation (. ..) “.

Ortiz had suffered a motorcycle accident in 2011, he was 48 years old. During the pandemic, the artist had been venturing into the biosecurity products business, given the crisis that had paralyzed the show.
