Next Wednesday, April 7 there will be a new meeting in the Government of Antioquia with spokespersons from the 125 municipalities and businessmen, to assess the situation of the pandemic and determine if it is necessary to increase the restrictions for the next few days.

If infections and the occupation of Intensive Care Units (ICU) continue to skyrocket, new measures would be adopted as a total closure or the so-called ‘accordion model’.

The governor in charge of Antioquia, Luis Fernando Suárez, asked the inhabitants to exercise extreme self-care to avoid restrictions stricter that would affect the economy.

One of the possibilities is to return to the scheme of four business days for three out of forty weekends.

“At this time we do not rule out a complete closure measure for the days to come. (…) We are modeling scenarios like the ones we had last year of possible accordions on the weekends. If you don’t have to go out, don’t go out. We as authorities make the decisions, but it is up to each one to abide by them “, he pointed.

As the results of the restrictions are known seven days after implementing them, in this meeting on Wednesday It will be evaluated if the curfew of the previous week that began at 12 at night worked or not. Only in mid-April, will the result of the restriction be known during the time that began at 5 and 6 in the afternoon.
