What you can and cannot do this December 24 in Bogotá – Bogotá

Today is the key day for Bogotá to demonstrate good behavior in the middle of the December holidays: it will depend on citizen culture that there are no shots in the contagion and that the District does not have to take stricter measures in the New Year celebrations.

In principle, remember that there are pico and cedula. Today, those who have ID numbers ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 will not be able to enter establishments for the sale and payment of goods and services; purchase of any product at retail and wholesale; of banking, financial, notarial and citizen service services in public entities.

Tomorrow, the rule will apply for odd numbers, and so on until January 15.

Health centers, pharmacies and funeral services are exempted from pico and cedula. Also, there is an exception in the event that notarial, banking, financial and administrative procedures require the simultaneous appearance of two or more people. It is worth saying that this restriction does not apply to minors.

And, based on the latest adjustments of the District to the norm, it is necessary to know that restaurants and hotels do not have a bill and a certificate either, so you can go to these spaces complying with the protocols.

But, can you go to a restaurant that is inside a shopping center? Yes. Although the mall does have a pick and ID card, you can enter if you are going to the restaurant. “The shopping centers will take the measures. But this is not about having a policeman by your side. It can’t be that I say ‘I’m going to the restaurant’ and stay around the mall or try to enter a warehouse. This is a self-care measure ”, indicated the legal secretary William Mendieta.

Also, know that the restriction of sale and consumption of liquor is already in force and that it will go until 11:59 p.m. December 27. This implies that you will not be able to buy liquor in any establishment. Although you can order liquor at home, the recommendation is to do it from trusted stores: avoid going to ‘pirate’ suppliers. You may be at risk of buying adulterated alcohol.
The rule also dictates that you will not be able to consume liquor in public space.

“For consumption within homes there is no type of penalty. But if the liquor gives me a big party that is going to disturb the neighbors, you can call the Police, as on any day of the year, “said the legal secretary. In addition, neither tonight, nor on December 25, 26 and 27, parties can be held outside or inside the house. Note: this restriction includes spaces such as front gardens and common areas of residential complexes.

Finally, when it is time for the meeting, you should follow these recommendations: limit the meeting to a maximum of 10 people from the same family circle or household, keep wearing masks, keep your distance, wash your hands frequently and ensure that there is natural ventilation. If you are going to eat, it is advisable to do it in turns.

Mobility: Peak and plate, Terminal and TransMilenio

Private cars: for now, follow the peak and plate in Bogotá. This implies that today, between 6 am and 8:30 am and between 3 pm and 7:30 pm, private vehicles with license plates ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 will not be able to circulate. Tomorrow there will be no peak and license plate for being a holiday. And, for now, from the District there are no signs that the measure will be lifted. If you require the car on the days of the restriction, we recommend you go to the shared car exception.

TransMilenio: today it will operate from 4 am to 11 pm And tomorrow it will operate with
Holiday hours: from 5 am to 10 pm There will be no changes in routes or stations.

Transport terminal:
If you need to leave Bogotá by intermunicipal transport, the recommendation is to buy your ticket in advance and virtually through www.terminaldetransporte.gov.co. There you can also check the biosecurity measures.
