Video: Woman confronted a thief to prevent him from stealing her

A video where a woman is seen, accompanied by her three-year-old daughter, went viral on November 6. The reason, He was able to prevent two assailants from taking his cell phone while walking through one of the streets of Montería.

The scene was recorded on security cameras in one of the houses of the neighborhood where the robbery attempt occurred.

According to witnesses, the incident occurred around 10:00 am this Thursday, when the young woman was leaving her home to shop. Two men on a motorcycle approached him and the grill man, knife in hand, threatened and tried to take his cell phone away.

The victim reacted by running and fighting with the assailant who managed to take her cell phone. The woman left her daughter without a care and managed to prevent the man from getting on the motorcycle.

The woman, in her struggle with the thief, was wounded in the left arm. A few seconds passed since the robbery began, but the screams and the scene of struggle between the woman and her assailant immediately attracted attention. The solidarity of other motorcyclists, pedestrians and neighbors was crucial so that he did not suffer more than one injury.

While this was happening, you can see how the three-year-old was crying inconsolably. However, another apparently familiar woman took the little girl in her arms and protected her.

The camera of a house located in the corner captured the whole scene. But it did not manage to capture the subsequent onslaught of those who helped the woman and brutally beat the alleged robber, who is seen in another video with head wounds and bloodied, but already protected by two police officers calling for reinforcements.

The captured man was identified as Antony Ballesteros Lemus and claimed to be willing to expose his robbery partner, who was able to escape the scene. The offender was placed under the orders of a guarantee judge for the legalization of his capture. As proof of the crime, the video from the security camera was also sent.

The victim was transferred to a health center to be treated due to the severity of the injury.

Judicial sources consulted by El Heraldo reported that they do not rule out that the Prosecutor’s Office is charged with the crime of attempted murder to the detainee, due to the injuries caused to the victim.

Wilson Armel Montenegro, commander of the Metropolitan Police of Montería, assured that “the capture procedure had its development moments in which the policemen were alerted by a citizen, through a telephone call in which they pointed to two subjects on a motorcycle, that a woman had been intercepted to steal her cell phone and she had reacted to the fact, struggling with the criminal ”.
