The Metropolitan Police indicated that a Security Caravan, with more than 200 uniformed personnel, travels through various neighborhoods of the city, together with the mayor of Cartagena, William Dau, and the Secretary of the Interior, David Múnera.

This caravan has more than 30 motorcycles from the Special Operations Group – Goes and Available Force, 20 institutional vehicles, and personnel from traffic agents to control motorcycles and motor vehicles that fail to comply with the measure.

In addition to this, another 150 policemen deploy five other caravans led by the commanders of the Caracoles, Nuevo Bosque, Olaya, El Pozón and Caribe Norte stations.

The objective of these caravans and controls is to verify compliance with the measure, established in Decree 0551 of April 26, 2020, and to raise awareness among Cartagena residents on the street about the importance of staying home to avoid COVID infections. -19.

In the decree it is stipulated that today only excepted workers may leave, such as health, construction, manufacturing, media, surveillance, and public services personnel, among others.

The first day of total confinement

During the past Friday, May 1, the first day of total isolation, more than 200 people in Cartagena were penalized for disregarding the quarantine order, while five vehicles were immobilized.

An operation was deployed in Bazurto where complete control of the supply center was guaranteed.

Next ‘curfew day’
