Sad news this week made Colombian television mourn: the presenter’s early departure Valentina Arbeláez, 25, who was part of the children’s entertainment strips of the channels Citytv and RCN.
According to close sources, Arbeláez, in 2014, suffered a stroke that left him delicate health consequences. Last Thursday it was learned that Valentina’s health had declined, for which she was transferred to a clinic in Bogotá, where died of a heart attack.

The presenter Mónica Hernández told EL TIEMPO that she just interviewed her days before Valentina suffered the health incident, on the Citytv program ‘Bravíssimo’.
“I met Valentina when she was presenting in City; we had her invited to the show and I think fifteen days later she suffers the stroke. How dramatic it was at that time. The girl was in a coma. It really caused a lot of concern in me I asked for the phone number of the family, Juan Carlos, her father, and I asked him if we could go visit her with my prayer group, “says Hernández.
Thus began a process of accompaniment and a chain of prayer for Valentina’s health. “We became close friends with her family. A friendship that will last forever, even if Valentina has left, because they were etched in my heart,” recalls the presenter.
It all started with a very strong headache that Valentina had, which forced her to take her to the El Bosque Clinic in Bogotá, where her health was complicated. “But miraculously she woke up,” Hernandez notes.
However, the young presenter had to remain connected to oxygen and other equipment. From his bed he recognized the people and the affection that everyone professed for him. Unfortunately he was unable to move again.
“I continued to visit her with my family and friends. I always lived very closely the ordeal of her father, who suffered a lot with the EPS because they sometimes failed to comply with the therapies, the nurses, the adaptation at home as home hospitalization; it was very difficult. And I had to live from guardianship to guardianship. The fight was until the last minute, “says her friend.
And during these years, family and friends tried to make Valentina’s life as happy and kind as possible. For example, on dates like ‘Halloween’, they would dress her in a costume, or if she had a birthday they would fix her up very beautifully and everyone would celebrate her.
“The last year was very complicated because all visits were suspended due to the fear of covid-19, so that so many people did not enter the house, given the vulnerability of their health,” says Hernández.
They were more than six years in which Valentina fought an exemplary fight. “They are a beautiful family: two brothers (his brother Juan Sebastián), father, mother, and she taking off in her career in a very beautiful way. It was her moment.”
