The wait is over. All set for the toughest Playoffs in the world. This Thursday, Uruguay receives the Chilean National Team, directed by Reinaldo Rueda, in the historic Centennial.
The duel to be played in the city of Montevideo can be enjoyed from 5:45 pm (Colombian time) and will be arbitrated by Paraguayan Eber Aquino.
Regarding the Uruguayan team, Diego Godín, assured this Wednesday at a press conference that the game against the Chileans “will not be conditioned by the losses” suffered by both teams.
“There are significant casualties for both teams. We are not going to hide that we have casualties of players who are very important for the group, for the operation of the team, who are benchmarks within the selection,” he said.
Let’s remember that Uruguay will not have goalkeeper Fernando Muslera, who is injured; defender José María Giménez, recently recovered after being infected with covid-19; and Edinson Cavani, who was not cited by technical decision.
La Roja arrived in Montevideo on Wednesday on a flight that left Santiago with Alexis Sánchez and Arturo Vidal as main figures.
Those led by Reinaldo Rueda trained this week at the Juan Pinto Durán Complex without the presence of Gary Medel, who was injured playing for his team last weekend and was released from the squad.
