The first night of the curfew decreed in Cali for the weekend of Mother’s Day left a positive balance regarding the behavior of citizens, as reported on Saturday morning the secretary of security and justice, Carlos Rojas.
“They inform us of all the fronts in which we work that Cali fulfilled. We had very few events in which we intervened, we had a magnificent institutional presence throughout the city thanks to the articulation with the Metropolitan Police, the traffic agents and the National Army” Rojas commented.

The public official clarified that between 10:00 and 10:30 at night on Friday, they granted a reasonable time to people who came from their jobs so that they could get home without problems. “We were careful to verify that this was so,” he added.
Rojas assured that, in the monitoring carried out by the authorities during the night of Friday-early Saturday morning, twelve activities were found with people in the streets. “There are really very few activities compared to the enormous amount that could be in the city in a weekend as sensitive as this. The important thing is that all the people accepted the call of the authorities.”
The Secretary of Security congratulated the authorities for the work carried out and recognized the commitment of the citizens to the measures taken. “We are preparing ourselves so that in the day of this Saturday we have at least the same behavior that we had last night and hopefully much better, because we can do it.”
The curfew was decreed in Cali during the Mother’s Day weekend from 10:00 at night on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, until 6:00 in the morning the following day with the intention of stopping the expansion of the Covid-19, as the capital of Valle del Cauca is one of the hardest hit cities.
