reince today, tomorrow and Thursday there are restrictions for citizens under the modality of peak and even and odd card. Such a measure will be required for entering public service establishments, not for their mobility.

This was announced last night by the governor of Santander, Mauricio Aguilar Hurtado, at the end of a meeting of the Unified Command Post, PMU, in which the mayors of the metropolitan area and other municipalities of the region, the Departmental Health Secretary, the Manager for the COVID-19 Strategy, the public force and representative of economic unions.

The reason for this last minute measure, according to the Sectional President himself, “is due to social indiscipline on the issue of biosafety regulations and the increase in the occupation of intensive care units in the metropolitan area.”

Thus, and as reported by the Sectional President, this December 29 only people whose last digits of the ID are: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9.

Tomorrow, December 30, those with identity documents ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 will be able to leave.

Likewise, on December 31, those with ID cards ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 will have permission to leave.

1st. week of 2021 will be double digits

Similarly, between January 2 and 8, 2021, the peak and schedule will be two digits per day, starting like this:

January 2: (digits 1 and 2)

January 3: (digits 3 and 4)

January 4: (digits 5 and 6)

January 5: (digits 7 and 8)

January 6: (digits 9 and 0)

January 7: (digits 1 and 2)

January 8: (digits 3 and 4)

This peak and card will govern in the following municipalities: Bucaramanga, Floridablanca, Piedecuesta, Girón, Lebrija, Los Santos, Rionegro, Barrancabermeja, Aratoca, Barichara, San Gil, El Socorro and Barbosa.

And the curfew?

The curfew will be throughout the Department and will go from 9:00 pm on December 31 to 6:00 am on January 2, 2021.

After that date, the curfew will be from 11:00 pm to 5:00 am

The COVID-19 Manager speaks

The Departmental Manager of COVID-19, Luis Felipe González Castro revealed that since the beginning of this month of December an increase in confirmed cases of contagion began, reaching a variation of + 35% in the week from 13 to 19 with respect to the week from 6 to 12.

“In the current week we have reported a daily average of 554 confirmed cases with a variation of + 16% with respect to the previous week and + 54% with respect to the first week of December,” he said.

“In addition, the constant monitoring made during the last holidays (November and December), have indicated that in a period of around 11 days after these types of dates, the proportion of cases of coronavirus infections in our region increased between 20% and 33% ”, he specified.

“Additional circumstances typical of these dates have also impacted the epidemiological curve and hit the provision of health services; which at this moment has us in a second peak of the pandemic and in a Hospital Red Alert, situations that merit immediate joint actions by the population and authorities ”, he pointed out.
