The above are the first official measures to be announced, following the recommendation made by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection not to promote crowds on the occasion of the traditional ‘Halloween Day’.

On the Floridablanca side, the Ministry of the Interior of that municipality announced that there will be a curfew for those under 15 years of age, which will be in effect between 3:00 p.m. on October 31 and 00:00 on Sunday, November 1 .

In addition, the decision was made to implement the Prohibition Law from 00:00 hours on the same Saturday 31 until 23:59 on the holiday Monday, November 2.

It should be noted that during the weekend the sale of alcoholic beverages will be prohibited. However, people will be able to consume liquor inside the houses and the curfew for adults that begins at 10:00 at night will remain in force.

And Bucaramanga?

The local president, Juan Carlos Cárdenas Rey, decided together with the union and community leaders that the typical celebrations of that day could not be carried out in the ‘Ciudad Bonita’.

“We have been working with the Epidemiological Committee, the Ministry of Health, Trade Unions, Civic Leadership and Shopping Centers reviewing the recommendations of the Ministry of Health and we have decided to suspend the celebration of Halloween in Bucaramanga. We intend to continue protecting the lives of people and especially the elderly ”, indicated Cárdenas Rey.

According to the health and police authorities, among which are epidemiologists, the Commander of the Metropolitan Police and the same COVID Manager, it was concluded that the strategy to prevent Halloween from becoming a chain of contagion is to intensify the touch curfew and enact the Dry Law.

Despite this, Cárdenas Rey emphasized that in Bucaramanga additional restrictive measures to those already established will not be implemented; In other words, the curfew in the city will continue to be in force from 11:00 at night and there will be no Prohibition.

“We want to avoid crowds or multiple contacts of children receiving sweets in the streets. The recommendation is not to go out on the streets, avoid being in shopping centers and make tours of neighboring houses, ”he said.
