At around 4:00 pm this Friday, the authorities confirmed that the indigenous leader, Félix Antonio Hernández, appeared in good health in Pereira, capital of the Risaralda department.

According to the report, the man is in a Pereira Police station. Although they affirm that “it is well”, it is not known why it is in that place.

Apparently, the indigenous leader arrived by his own means at the CAI of the Police of the San Nicolás sector, south of that city.

The indigenous leader was referred to a health center for a medical evaluation.

According to the uniformed men who received him, Hernández arrived somewhat disoriented and “began to ask where the government was.”

It should be noted that around 10:00 am on Friday the authorities reported that this man was missing.

In fact, the Mayor of Cali, Jorge Iván Ospina, wrote on his Twitter account that Hernández was last seen in the People’s Coliseum, south of the city, where since last Monday the indigenous minga communities who They came from Cauca.

According to Ospina, Hernández is 55 years old and is a member of the Caldas Regional Indigenous Council, CRIDEC. “He is a human rights leader who came to our city from his embera reservation,” he noted.

Regarding what could have happened, Cristián Delgado, a human rights defender from the minga, assured that this may be a case of forced disappearance, because “his belongings were found inside the tent where he slept in the minga “.

For now, the medical results are awaited to determine what happened to Hernández and, through testimonies and security cameras, establish why he appeared so far from Cali.
