They extend the term for the withdrawal of severance pay due to a decrease in income

After the National Government extended the health emergency until February 28, 2021, measures such as the Withdrawal of severance payments due to decreased income were extended and were enabled until that same date.

This exceptional measure requires certain requirements such as attaching to the application a certification of decrease in income from the employer. This document must contain the name or company name of the employer together with the type and identification number; name and surname of the worker and type and identification number; employer contact details; salary earned by the worker as of March 1, 2020; amount of the decrease in the worker’s monthly income and the period subject to the reduction in income.

According to the provisions of the Financial Superintendency (External Circular 013 of March 2020), people who require such money must take into account the following:

1. The partial withdrawal payment will be limited to the balance available in the individual severance account of each affiliate.

5. Remember that the certification issued by the employer will be valid for all monthly requests for partial retirement of severance payments authorized by article 3 of Decree 488 of 2020. The AFPs will not charge the commission for partial retirement of severance payments authorized by the Government given the emergency facing the country.
