At the end of the Unified World Post (PMU) convened by the Governor Silvano Serrano, in which the Mayor of Cúcuta, metropolitan mayors participated; mayors of Ocaña and Pamplona, health authorities, technical-scientific committee and the medical union of the region, the following necessary measures are taken to reduce COVID-19 infections in Norte de Santander and preserve people’s lives.
It is decreed:
1. Curfew throughout Norte de Santander from December 12 to 20 from 8:00 pm until 5 am the next day.
2. Dry Law (prohibition of consumption and sales of alcoholic beverages) from December 12 to 20.
3. Implementation of the Pico and Cédula in all commercial establishments in the municipalities of Norte de Santander, it also applies for mobility through the department’s roads.
4. Effective control of capacity in shopping and commerce centers.
5. Restriction of recreational activities and private meetings in order to avoid crowds and possible contagion of COVID-19.
6. Restriction of sports and recreational activities, likewise, encourage virtual work for those who can carry out their activities at home.
On the other hand, Serrano stressed that in the next few days 77 new ICU beds will be put into operation at the Erasmo Meoz University Hospital in order to attend the red hospital emergency that was declared on December 4 by decree 0558 of 2020.
“The PMU highlights the commitment of citizens in the measures that have been taken today and extends the call to the commercial sector to guarantee biosafety protocols for all citizens,” he stressed.
