These biosafety measures must be adopted in Corabastos

The District Health Secretariat of Bogotá reported that within the framework of the National Emergency Declaration for the pandemic and in the presence of 30 confirmed cases of the disease of the new coronavirus Covid-19 to date, the personnel who work in Corabastos and carry out commercial activities in said plant, Compliance with the following biosecurity measures is mandatory as of May 14, 2020, in order to prevent the spread and mitigate the risks that have been evidenced there:

2. The entrance to the plant will be allowed only for wholesalers, the entrance is restricted to retail buyers and housewives.

3. Only vehicles with two crew members will be allowed, the driver and an auxiliary, who must enter with biosafety elements.

4. Vehicles must go through a disinfection point before entering the plant according to protocols issued by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

5. The admission of people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and others that affect the immune system or who present respiratory symptoms is prohibited.

6. Every person entering the plant must undergo a hand sanitization and health assessment process that includes taking a temperature. In the event of identifying people with respiratory symptoms, they will be prohibited from entering the Abastos plant.

7. It must have permanent hand sanitizing points with antibacterial gel, sinks with social distance provided with water, liquid soap, paper towel and proper management of the waste generated.

8.Increase the frequency of washing and disinfection of common areas, warehouses and commercial premises so that the effectiveness of the process is guaranteed.

9. Guarantee the free provision of the bathroom service inside the plant with adequate sanitary conditions during the operation and with the supply of liquid soap, paper towels and toilet paper.

10.Reduce the entrance capacity to 35% of the total capacity of the plant in its daily operation.

11. It will not be allowed street sales in common areas or on the platforms of the corporation.

12. The Abastos Corabastos plant must install a health care center inland, where screening is carried out using molecular tests on the vulnerable population according to the guidelines of the District Health Secretariat with an emphasis on cocktakers and foxes, among others, establishing notification of cases to the District’s public health surveillance system.

13. Guarantee the physical distance to a minimum of two meters inside the facilities, including offices, banks, warehouses, common areas and commercial premises.

14.If the affectation by positive cases for Covid-19 exceeds 10% of the premises of a winery, it will proceed to the closure of this and when the affectation by positive cases for Covid -19 exceeds 10% of the wineries, it will proceed at the total closure of the Abastos plant.

15. The evolution of the outbreak will be monitored every 24 hours and in case of identifying that the aforementioned measures do not allow control of the outbreak, additional measures will be defined that may include the total closure of the Abastos plant.

The District Health Secretariat, as a health authority, will carry out daily monitoring of the aforementioned requirements and, in coordination with the other authorities of the capital District, within the framework of its competences, will apply the sanitary, security and police measures that are required in order to guarantee the individual and collective health of the city’s population.
