Two days after implementing the measure, the Mayor’s Office of Cartagena decided to raise the bill and ID to enter the commercial centers of the city.
However, the measure is still in force to access and circulate in banks, Bazurto market, department stores and supermarkets.
Through Decree 1622 of December 24, the mayor of Cartagena, William Dau Chamatr, ordered to exempt shopping centers, arguing that currently only 30% of the capacity is allowed.
“That since the average maximum capacity allowed in shopping centers does not exceed 30%, it is considered pertinent to exempt shopping centers from the restriction measure established in Decree 1608 of December 21, 2020; Likewise, these establishments have a permanent capacity monitoring system ”, says a separate part of the decree.
It is noteworthy that for the development of their activities, shopping centers must adhere to the biosecurity protocols taught by health authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19, such as the use of masks, hand washing, disinfection of spaces; that social distancing is fulfilled and avoiding crowds.
