Danish cyclist Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) achieved the most important victory of his palmars at the top of Jebel Jais with a final attack that surprised the favorites of the Tour of the United Arab Emirates, where the planned battle between Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates) and the British Adam Yates (Ineos Grenadiers) opted for the Slovenian, who took a decisive step to achieve the leader’s red jersey.
Vingegaard, 24, canceled in the last meters the escape of Kazakh Lutsenko and attacked to arrive alone 3 seconds ahead of Pogacar and Yates and 5 seconds ahead of the main group completed, among others, by Colombian Sergio Higuita (EF Education -Nippo) and the Portuguese Joao Almeida (Deceuninck-Quick Step).
