The security cameras on public roads and in different establishments were key to reconstructing the journey of two sisters who were murdered in a rural area of the municipality of La Cumbre, a crime that occurred on September 18 of this year.
The sisters, aged 21 and 14, from the municipality of Restrepo, were murdered with a firearm and found in a house in the Río Grande village, in La Cumbre, after visiting Buga and Yumbo.
To find the alleged femicides, the Police recovered more than 50 hours of security camera recording, which allowed clarifying the movements of the victims.
The day of the tragedy began with the meeting of the sisters and one of the alleged criminals, a man who wanted one of them, at the Transport Terminal in the municipality of Buga.

The man was waiting for them in a private car, from which they left the Terminal, toured the municipality and made purchases in a clothing store in downtown Buga.
From there they went to the municipality of Yumbo, and were captured by the security cameras of the El Cerrito and Rozo tolls.
In Yumbo, they attended another shopping center, where they made more purchases.
At night, they drove in the same vehicle to the municipality of La Cumbre, a step that was recorded in the cameras of the Pavas district and the Puerto Rico village.
Subsequently, the vehicle’s passage through the Río Grande sector, in La Cumbre, where the murder occurred, is identified.

Maribel had two injuries to her back and one to her hip, and her sister had three injuries to her chest.
About the captured
With these evidences, the Police identified a 35-year-old man, the main perpetrator, who was captured in the Belalcázar neighborhood of Cali. At the place of capture, the car involved in the trip was found, in which were the clothes that the victims had on the day of the murder.
Later, the stepfather of the first victim was captured on a road in Restrepo, Valle, and is identified as the determiner of the crime. Both men have a criminal record for theft.
Men must answer for the crimes of aggravated femicide in a heterogeneous and successive contest with trafficking, manufacture or carrying of firearms.
The operations took place in less than 30 days between the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office. However, the investigation continues to find the intellectual authors of the femicide.
