Supreme Court of Justice will continue with Eduardo Pulgar case despite Senate resignation

This was announced in the following trill by journalist Daniel Coronell, who revealed the audios in which Eduardo Pulgar offered “200 bars” to a judge to rule in favor of Luis Fernando Acosta on the control of the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla .

In this case, the Supreme Court of Justice opened an investigation and even ordered his arrest for allegedly committing the crimes of bribery and influence peddling.

However, Eduardo Pulgar, then a politician of the Conservative party, resigned from the Senate so that his case could go to the Prosecutor’s Office, as happened with the process of former president Álvaro Uribe Vélez, a strategy of the lawyer Jaime Granados, who legally represents the two former congressmen.

But things did not turn out for Pulgar the way they did for Uribe, since the the Supreme Court of Justice decided to continue with the investigation against him and not deliver the file to the Prosecutor’s Office, as his defense had requested, since the crimes of which they accuse him would have been committed as a senator.

Granados already tried to appeal to the health of the former conservative senator, to save him from jail. At that time, the lawyer claimed that his client was prone to serious illnesses.

Now we have to wait for the investigation to advance, to know a final ruling by the high court in the process against Pulgar.
