Witnesses of a triple crash that occurred this Thursday in Valledupar point to William José Dangond Baquero, better known as ‘El Palomo’, father of the Vallenato singer Silvestre Dangond, as the alleged perpetrator.

The accident took place on Simón Bolívar avenue, in the San Vicente neighborhood and according to the “El Pilón” portal, some passers-by who witnessed the accident, ‘El Palomo’ was traveling in a white truck, with license plates GJP-536, at the time to run over two motorcyclists. One of the victims was identified as Alejandro Nieves, 47, who at the time of impact was parking his motorcycle and the other as Freddy Arias, 45, who was unharmed.

According to El Pilón, “a health official who attended the emergency said that when he arrived to treat the injured, the citizens accused the ‘Palomo’ of causing the accident” and flee.

The portal thus quoted the official: “Those who were there said that he got out and said that he did not kill him, that he was alive and left. That was manifested by those who were there ”.

For their part, the authorities limited themselves to saying that it was unknown who owned or was driving the truck as the driver fled the scene of the accident.
