This is Samir Namen Malaver, who is ordered by the SIC to cease “immediately” the offer and make available to consumers the product called “Color Dioxide” as an alleged treatment to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The decision is made two days after the same national consumer protection authority ordered Natalia París to also stop the promotion that the model and DJ made of chlorine dioxide and withdraw the comments in which it invited people to consume this product.

In response, Paris issued a statement Thursday in which it said it never “publicized, promoted, promoted or commercialized” chlorine dioxide, and that it only made one comment.

Samir Namen Malaver is also ordered by the SIC indicate the means and / or points of sale through which the product is sold. In the case of using distributors, you must give that authority the list of those distributors, informing the name or company name, identity document, and contact information.

The SIC also orders that Samir Namen Malaver report if you currently have a stock of the product “Chlorine Dioxide”, to send all the advertising used to offer it, clarifying the means and dates of diffusion.

But that is not all. The required must send the list of requests, complaints and claims received to date, related to the commercialization of chlorine dioxide, and deliver the technical sheet of the product, in which the ingredients and / or substances that compose it are mentioned.

Finally, You must submit the documentary supports that support the benefits attributed to the product “Chlorine Dioxide”, especially those related to the prevention and / or cure of COVID-19.

If Samir Namen Malaver does not provide a clear, complete and precise response to each of the requirements, within 5 business days of receipt of the communication, The SIC warns you that you will be fined up to two thousand (2,000) current legal monthly minimum wages, the temporary closure of the business establishment may be ordered for up to one hundred and eighty 180 days, and the additional imposition of successive fines of up to one thousand (1,000) current legal monthly minimum wages.

The SIC calls on the community to be informed, in the official channels of the Colombian Health Authorities, about the recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and invites people to take care of their health and to distrust publications that offer products as miracle solutions to prevent the spread of the virus or counteract its effects.
