Selective isolation extends to February 28 and this is how it works

President Iván Duque announced that the new selective isolation with individual responsibility runs until February 28. Local leaders must make decisions based on the occupation of ICU beds.

When intensive care units are above 70%, 80% and 85%, restrictive measures will have to be decreed with the help of the national government, as happened the previous week.

“They are restrictions on night mobility, peak and card, restriction of sale of liquor and, of course, when we are at higher levels, very high occupancy of intensive care units, above 85% -90%, decisions are made of greater restriction “explained the head of state.

If the ICUs are between 51% and 60%, the mayors or governors may request special measures from the Interior and Health ministries.

These indicators will also be key to back to school
with the alternation model, which begins the last week of January or the first week of February.

This new phase of selective isolation maintains the prohibitions on crowds, discos, dance venues and the consumption of liquor in public spaces.
