The District Administration announced that gradually, with a pilot plan, one of the economic sectors most affected by the pandemic in Bogotá, the bars and nightclubs, will be able to reactivate. The Ministry of Economic Development had already presented to the Ministry of Health a proposal that was in the process of evaluation.
After a meeting that was held this Friday between the Mayor’s Office, representatives of the sector and the entities involved, the decision was made to reopen establishments starting this weekend. All under a scheme of strict biosecurity measures in which the owners had already been working.

In that sense, this pilot plan applies from today (Friday, March 19) only to bars that are already authorized by the Ministry of Economic Development and Health, that is, those that have already implemented the District’s sanitary requirements, which includes an optimal ventilation in these places.
Within the agreed rules it was defined that dancing is not allowed, and that its hours of operation will be from 10 am to 12 pm from Thursday to Saturday. Establishments that are interested in participating in this process must register at https://bogota.gov.co/reactivacion-economica, providing the biosafety protocols adopted in the business premises
So far, the Mayor’s Office reported that there are 411 records and that of these, the Ministry of Health has already reviewed 381 protocols. Another aspect that was defined in the Decree that gives free rein to this opening is that the establishments that open their doors must have an equitable geographical distribution among the towns of the city.
