The peak and identity card in Cali, which had been in force since last December 16, was extended until next January 4, 2021. This was announced this Wednesday, December 23, by the Mayor’s Office of Cali.

The continuity of the measure was recorded in decree 4112.010.20.2130 of 2020, issued by the local president, Jorge Iván Ospina.

The peak and the cedula, together with the curfew and the prohibition law, seek to help curb the speed of contagion of covid-19 in the city, regarding the increase in cases in recent days not only in the region, but throughout the country.

The restriction is based on the last digit of the citizens’ ID. According to this number, the person may or may not enter commercial, banking or public entities.

Pico y cédula in Cali: know what day you can go to run errands

According to the rule, during the remainder of 2020 the even digits will be able to do their errands on even days, and vice versa. As of January 1, this logic will be reversed, taking into account that December ends on an odd day:

December 24: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0
December 25: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
December 26: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0
December 27: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
December 28: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0
December 29: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
December 30: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0
December 31: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
January 1: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0
January 2: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9
January 3: 2, 4, 6, 8, 0
January 4: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9

It should be noted that the restriction does not apply to entry to restaurants, bars, transit services, gyms, sports schools and / or physical conditioning centers.

In the same way, the banking, financial and administrative services and notarial procedures that require the simultaneous appearance of two or more people are excepted.

Nor will it apply to duly identified medical personnel and others linked to the provision of health services.

Although the decree is in force until January 4, 2021, the peak and ID could be extended.

“If any additional event occurs between now and now, we will not hesitate to strengthen surveillance and control measures in the city,” said the mayor, Jorge Iván Ospina.
