The Mayor’s Office of Bogotá announced that the dry law will no longer be carried out from December 23 but from December 24, as well as lifting the restriction of the peak and ID in restaurants and hotels, after evaluating with the gastronomic and hotel union the conditions and to agree on new measures to maximize self-care and limit capacity. Despite this, the prohibition for the sale of alcoholic beverages within the establishments will be maintained.

It was also announced that the restriction for the consumption of intoxicating beverages will go from December 24 to 27, the day that will be the final of Colombian professional football, while during the end of the year festivities the restriction will be from December 31 to the first January and will not cover the first weekend of 2021. In addition, it was indicated that this measure will not apply to homes.

With these new determinations, the restriction for the consumption of alcohol in public spaces, festivals, parties in parks or on public roads is maintained, so citizens are asked to hold celebrations at home, together with the closest family circle and in groups with less than 10 people.

“Every health measure that we have taken in Bogotá has sought and will always seek a balance between health care and taking care of the economy. We ask citizens to celebrate this Christmas at home with moderation and a lot of self-care, ”said Luis Ernesto Gómez, Secretary of Government.

This Tuesday, 3,439 new infections and 56 deaths due to COVID-19 were registered in the city, while the occupation of Intensive Care Units increased to 61.2%.
