A brown snake, almost six feet tall, was caught off a busy beach in Queensland, Australia. The deadly reptile is considered one of the most dangerous in the world.

The animal was seen swimming in the sea, on a beach on the Sunshine Coast, northwest Queensland. Then he slid down a drainage pipe, in front of a surf club and a children’s play area.

The appearance of the animal caused a commotion among the bathers who were in the place. Stuart Mckenzie, a renowned snake hunter, went to the beach to capture it

In a video posted by the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 group on Facebook, the man is seen using a hook to remove the snake from the pipe. Finally, the expert manages to grab it by the tail and put it in a bag, despite the animal’s attempt to escape.

After the capture, those present applauded the hunter and the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers group 24/7 thanked the lifeguards of the place who “did everything possible, a fantastic job of keeping an eye on the snake and alerting the public while keeping a distance safe”.

The snake was released in a wooded area away from the beach to minimize the chances that it will re-scare people.

Eastern brown snakes can be found in the eastern region of Australia. Their venom is the second most toxic of all land snakes and they kill more people in Australia than any other type of snake.
