Although the recommendation of the INS and the other health and police authorities is to celebrate taking care of yourself without gunpowder and without crowds, This night of candles was characterized precisely because in the big cities there was gunpowder and agglomerations.

That was, for example, the way Bogotá spent the night of the candles, in the midst of the pandemic, to experience the feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary, which starts the December celebrations.

But nevertheless, the capital and Cundinamarca also registered a reduction in the number of gunpowder victims.

According to the INS report, last year until this date there were 18 burned with Gunpowder, but last night there was only one burn, which means a reduction of 94.4%.

In Cundinamarca, to date, last year there were 3 burned, and until six in the morning of this Tuesday there were zero burned with gunpowder in the apartment. 100% reduction.

The numbers of burns throughout the country are about to be consolidated, while the authorities make a final sweep through the different health centers.

Caracol Radio made an observation that draws attention, according to which the data of burns on some occasions they remain down because there are parents who do not report their children burned but until one or two days later, to avoid social sanction and punishment from the authorities.

According to the INS, the departments most affected by the use of gunpowder are Antioquia, Cauca, Bogotá and Valle del Cauca.
