At the moment, it is not known if there will be similar measures in the subregion of Urabá and the Aburrá Valley, where two municipalities, La Estrella and Sabaneta, have already decreed a night curfew for minors.
“While the restriction measure lasts, the exceptions that have been adopted in similar circumstances and that have to do with emergencies, health personnel and those who for work reasons have to travel during restriction hours will also be in force”, indicated the departmental administration.
The restriction seeks to counteract a rebound in coronavirus cases due to crowds and citizen indiscipline in this holiday season.
The president urged citizens not to lower their guard and reiterated that the most effective protection measure is to fully comply with biosafety protocols, such as the proper and permanent use of the mask, even in family spaces, hand washing and distancing.
To date, in the department there are 4,506 active cases of COVID-19 and the ICU occupancy is 78.32 percent.
