This Wednesday, Atlético Nacional announced, through a statement, that the team has nine players positive for covid-19, who are in good health, are asymptomatic and are in isolation with monitoring by the medical department.

“Atlético Nacional, complying with its internal protocol for weekly monitoring of tests for detection of covid-19, carried out control tests on its staff on Monday. These results yielded nine positive players. They are in good general health, asymptomatic and in preventive isolation ”.

In the brief statement they do not confirm names and following the biosafety protocol, the club established the epidemiological fence, extending it to the respective families and other workers.

Finally, due to the Dimayor calendar, the tests must be held again next Friday. With these nine infected, they join the list of Sebastián Gómez and Yerson Candelo who tested positive prior to the game against America last Saturday, Helibelton Palacios would have already completed the isolation period and could rejoin the team, although it would not be known if his results they are negative.

A ‘puzzle’ for Alejandro Restrepo

In this way, the figure would amount to 12 positive players for covid-19 in the team. According to Dimayor, teams must show up to play with a minimum of seven players.

If these 12 are removed from the list of 30 players, added to the six who are in the medical department (Geisson Perea, Christian Mafla, Juan David Cabal, Cristian Blanco, Estéfano Arango, Andrés Andrade), there are already 18 players that Nacional Couldn’t count for this Saturday Without Gustavo Torres transferred to Vasco da Gama, there are 19 players that Alejandro Restrepo will not be able to use and he could barely gather 11 players for this match.
