The presidents of the CONMEBOL Member Associations together with the head of this entity held a meeting via teleconference with the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, to finalize details of the Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. the first matches – October 8 and 13 – were ratified at the meeting, while President Infantino expressed FIFA’s desire for all national teams to reach the Qualifiers on equal terms.
In this sense, Infantino ensured compliance with the regulations in force in relation to the transfer of players by the clubs in favor of the national teams. This was a specific request from the CONMEBOL Member Associations, with a view to each of them having their maximum potential in the face of competition.
The coordination of the Member Associations of CONMEBOL and FIFA will continue on Thursday with a new meeting of the highest level.
